FAQ

Isn't strategic planning about having a plan? This sounds like not planning.

Not at all. Adaptive strategy is still planning. It's just planning differently. Instead of detailed 3-year plans with fixed milestones, you create strategic intent that guides direction while allowing tactical flexibility. You still plan. You just plan for multiple scenarios, build in decision points, and create structures that allow for adaptation.

 

We have a very stable industry. Do we really need this?

Even stable industries face disruption, just ask Blockbuster, Barnes & Noble, Kodak, or BlackBerry. If your industry truly is stable (rare these days), traditional planning may work. But most "stable" industries are one technology shift or regulatory change away from volatility. Building strategic agility before you need it is insurance.

How is this different from agile strategy or OKRs?

There's overlap. OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) are one tool for adaptive strategy execution. Agile strategy shares many principles. This workshop goes broader. It addresses the entire strategic planning process, not just execution frameworks. If you're using OKRs, this helps you set better objectives. If you're agile, this helps at the strategy level above tactical sprints.

 

Can we run this as part of our actual strategic planning session?

Yes! The 2-day intensive can serve as your strategic planning offsite, with the workshop frameworks applied in real-time to your planning. This is highly effective. You learn and plan simultaneously. Requires advance prep (pre-work) and typically extends to 2.5-3 days to complete actual planning work.

What if our leadership team isn't aligned on needing this?

That's common. I can facilitate a 90-minute "why adaptive strategy matters" session with your executive team first (€1,400). This builds alignment on the problem before committing to the full workshop. Or start with a few leaders and expand once they see value.
