You're brave but it doesn't always feel that way

The Challenge of Starting Over

Moving abroad is one of the most courageous things a person can do. It can be exciting. Still, even the most exciting adventure can come with moments of doubt. You might be:

  • Struggling to feel at home in a new culture

  • Adapting to a new language and customs

  • Missing your old support system and routines

  • Wondering how to rebuild your career and identity

  • Feeling isolated, even in a crowd

  • Juggling family needs while trying to care for yourself

It's not just about learning a new language or finding the right grocery store. It's about belonging, purpose, and feeling like yourself again. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone. Many expats find themselves stuck between worlds - no longer fully belonging to the old, but not yet comfortable in the new.

I've Been Where You Are

I've lived this journey myself. As an expat myself, I know the challenges of uprooting your life and building something new in unfamiliar surroudings. My own experiences taught me how much courage it takes and how important it is to have the right support.

I have moved two dozen times in my life! I grew up in Southern California. After university and starting my family, I moved to Connecticut. Despite being in the same country, I faced many challenges. Then, in the summer of 2017, I moved to Austria. Everything was different and I had to adapt to:

  • Living in a small village with less than 300 people. Village life is much different than what I was used to in big cities

  • Learning a new language

  • Making new friends as a very social person

  • Communicating with my husband's family in a language I did not understand

  • Embracing new holidays, customs, foods, stores, etc

  • Finding a job in a place where I did not yet have a professional network

  • Trying to feel at home in an environment where nothing felt familiar

I know what it feels like to stand in a new country with just a suitcase full of hopes but also fears. I have lived the rollercoaster of expat life - the thrills, the challenges, the loneliness, and unexpected growth.

That is why I do this work. I believe no one should have to navigate these changes alone.

How I Can Support You

Together, we will:

  • Create connection by finding ways to root yourself in your new community abroad

  • Find clarity about what you want this chapter of your life to look like

  • Build confidence to handle challenges with resilience and grace

  • Explore your career or personal path so you feel fulfilled, not lost

Every expat journey is different and your story matters. My role is to listen, to guide, and to walk alongside you as you create a life that feels like home.

Let's Begin

You've already taken a bold step by choosing this path. The next step is finding the right support that helps you not just survive, but flourish.

I would love to meet you and hear your story. Let's talk about how I can support you.

A Note of Care

The support I offer is through mentoring and coaching. While our work together can be powerful and transformative, it is not therapy and does not replace professional mental health care. If you are facing mental health challenges, I encourage you to also seek support from a licensed professional alongside this work.
